You have the option to link your 23andMe account to your Google account – this means that when you sign in, you will use your Google login credentials instead of creating a password through 23andMe.
When your 23andMe account is linked to your Google account, you will log in by clicking the white “Sign in with Google” button below the regular login entry. You will then select or enter your Google email and password.

How do I unlink my account from Google Sign-In?You are able to unlink your 23andMe account from Google Sign-In within your account settings. Unlinking your Google account means that you will no longer use Google Sign-In to access your 23andMe account. Your 23andMe account will still be associated with the same email address, however, you will log in directly on the 23andMe website once your account is unlinked from Google Sign-In. You can always re-link your account to Google Sign-In in the future if you choose. If you would like to unlink your account from Google Sign-In, please follow the steps below:
You will receive a follow-up email titled “Successfully unlinked Google sign in” to your account email address prompting you to set a new password for your account. You will not be able to log into your account until you set your new password. Once your new password is set, you can log in manually to your 23andMe account using your email address and password. |
What if I forgot my Google account password? If you do not remember the password to your Google account, please visit the Google Account Recovery page for help. Note: requesting a password reset through 23andMe will not allow you to reset your Google password. If you are unable to recover your Google account after contacting them directly, please contact 23andMe Customer Care. |
Why is my account locked? If you are seeing the below message and your account is linked with Google you can still log in using the “Sign in with Google” button. This indicates that there were too many failed login attempts using the regular login entry (which will not work for Google-linked accounts). |
